The Dexter breed originated in the South West of Ireland. The smallest native breed of cattle in the British Isles, they are hardy, dual purpose cattle, producing excellent beef and milk, an ideal suckler cow for conservation grazing. What they lack in stature, they make up for in character and occasionally wilful behaviour!
(just so you know, we had a big herd reduction in 2024, and whilst we still have some fine beasts, we won’t have any beef until mid 2025 - thank you)
